A Monkey For All
A Monkey For All is an image based play. Rather than story or linear plot, it is consisted of strong visual sets and ready-made goods and texts with symbolic meaning to represent different aspects of the topic: the power and violent. Emphasizing the different textures of stage pros, using the collage of daily texts such as news, politic speech, interviews of celebrities, TV shows and pop songs, repeating scenes and b-class movie style of acting. All these fragments create a playful atmosphere and reflections of our life. In the play, monkeys play a human imitating game -such as sex, fighting, dancing, singing, and acting like politician or artist. They play different roles in turn and do violence on each other. The result is a violent comedy which ironically shows us who we really are.
